At Project Motherhood Iowa, we are more than a support group - we're a safe haven for those navigating deep, personal experiences. Our mission is to empower women and their families through healing-centered care, education, and community support. We believe in creating a space where grief is honored, stories are shared, and no one feels alone on their journey.
Our services included perinatal and postpartum peer support, infertility and infant loss groups, workshops, and creative healing events like Paint & Share. We also offer space for fathers through our Dads Support Circle. Whether you're processing loss, adjusting to new parenthood, or seeking connection, we're here to help you heal, grow, and thrive.
We believe that true healing and support happens through connection - and that is why community collaboration is central to our mission at Project Motherhood Iowa. We build community by partnering with organizations like Rural Black Doula, Monsoon, and PSI-Iowa. Together, we expand access to culturally affirming care and connect families to the resources and support they need.
I’m Tina Branch, founder of Project Motherhood Iowa. My passion lies in supporting women as they navigate Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, loss, and infertility. Through our programs, we provide essential resources, grief support, and community connections to those facing these deeply personal challenges. As a mother of five, I understand firsthand the complexities of motherhood and the need for compassionate, culturally relevant care. Project Motherhood Iowa is dedicated to creating safe spaces for Black mothers and families to heal, share their stories, and receive the support they deserve.
We believe every pregnancy, loss, and postpartum journey is different — and that’s why we lead with compassion, cultural understanding, and care that honors the whole person. Our support is never one-size-fits-all. We meet families where they are, listening first and walking alongside them through every stage of the journey.
Our work goes beyond individual care. We create safe, healing spaces for families to gather, grieve, grow, and be seen. Through community events, peer support groups, and grief care initiatives, we offer connection and support that reflects the strength and beauty of our people. We also partner with birth workers, mental health providers, and local organizations who share our mission — so families have access to the wraparound care they deserve.
Project Motherhood Iowa offers culturally rooted care and community-based support for Black mothers and families navigating the emotional highs and lows of pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, and loss.
